Hello everybody,
after Paul posted his recent thread (
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2725), which I enjoyed very much, I thought I do something similar and share some pictures from weekend trips near my hometown Munich.
Taken together, these add up to a nice compilation of findings - ze Germans are going strong
- Tree Frog (Hyla arborea) from one of the biggest populations near the city of Munich
- Yellow-Bellied Toad (Bombina variegata)
- Yellow-Bellied-Pool Party
The "Isarauen" south of Munich are a very important area for both rare plants and animals, and always good for interesting encounters and observations.
- Lady's Slipper Orchid
- Mating Slow Worms (Anguis fragilis)
- Beautiful area in the Alps, where Alpine and Fire Salamander occur syntopically
- Alpine Salamander (Salamandra atra) from the same area
- Bobby with two Fire Salamanders (Salamandra s. salamandra) from nearby
- Walchensee at sunset
- Alpine Salamander (Salamandra atra), found on the same day at the Walchensee
- Another one of all these black animals populating the Walchensee - Grass Snake (Natrix natrix)
- My first German Aesculapian Snake (Zamenis longissimus), obviously found at one of the two known locations in Eastern Bavaria
- Aesculapian Snake (Zamenis longissimus)
- The beautiful river Mangfall, Fire Salamander habitat
- Fire Salamander (Salamandra s. salamandra) - if you look closely, you can see some reddish parotoids.
Thanks for having a look!
Cheers,
Laura
