I thought I'd share this with you.

A Belgian friend just got back from a pretty succesful herping tour in the Peloponnese and saw this.

Nothing really shocking, but still cool to see, I think.

BTW, this photographer proves that you can also herp with your family - wife and kids all searching, they found 28 species, including 4 sand boas, cat snake, and about all the non-snake species of the south(west)ern Peloponnese! Talking about well-trained offspring :lol:

Very nice! Family effords pay off! Now you don't have to be affraid to have your own offspring anymore, Jeroen! ...so neither do I :mrgreen:

I try it for years now, in 2002 my girl still went with me and even searched..untill in..2007 our first child was born and the girlfriend doesnt look any more, 2010 the second child, still no effort from the girlfriend, but the oldest child already likes to look around..
When we go on a vacation I plann everything up front and say it is a coincedence that we always stay at good herp-sites.

Congratulations for the photo!

I too often found in the situla water ponds, but I've never seen a fish or amphibian situla eat: and you?

I think they do it only for thermoregulation and ecdisis

I think they do it just for termoregulation,too..but you never know!
