Please find attached pic of
The 3 frogs a friend of mine photographed...
All are of a good size probably 4 inches (100mm) in length. They were photographed higher up the mountain at a cattle drinking trough. It was a hot day probably 30 degrees celsius. Some cloud cover. There were some kind of newts or salamanders in the trough. When the photographers got too close, the frogs dived back into the trough.
The others are tortoises. One is a baby tortoise about 2-3 inches (50 -75mm) long...photographed while on holiday in northern Greece. We were north of Kerkini in the mountains. Hot dry weather during day but rain at night. Area was full of flowers and grasses, a lot of these had gone to seed.
I'd like to know if you can suggest a species...probably Herman's or Spur-thighed...
The others in a different location in the area but in a very similar habitat. Dry mountains low altitude...
Thanks in advance
