Ladies and gents
I am shortly off on a visit to Crete, I'm going with work and will only have around a day and a half spare for herping.. Obviously I want to see the endemic lizard and frog.. I have site info for the kourna lake area, however as this is some 200k from where I will be staying, I wondered if anyone had any sites closer to Heraklion?
Any info greatly recieved.. Chocolate and snogs all round.

So you are staying another 100km east of Heraklion?
For Pelophylax, I have 2 spots within a 30km radius, one of which is home to Boyeria cretensis (although out of flight period) and a lovely creek altogether.
I'd ask Petros Lymberakis for Podarcis. Would be cool if you'd try to get to one of the islets near the east coast. This is one option =>
