The question you had raised in the first quote - and of course the subseqent answer - is a little different from the second question you had raised in the second quote. Sources for Info regarding pkA vs. survivability of snakes in belly.

Survivability of snakes in a belly of a frog was my first (= "originally raised") question, and the only one
at that, while the unfortunate "You really expect a straight and material answer to THAT?" was rather
an expression of my (unfounded, yes!) incredulity than a real question. (I was obviously wrong about
that "THAT", so I've learned something once again. Much obliged.)
