Ciao I'm relatively new about herps, I like a lot tortoises and I'm now approaching other reptiles, so I tried to contribute with some picture taken in my garden (tarentola) and on the hills around my house.
I live in Southern Italy and precisely in Campania region, near Salerno town ina villa with a big garden.
I apologize for some mistake in species identification
Tis picture was made last week at 8:30 in the morning on the fence around the garden, it is curios thata every morning at the same hour between end of september and october the two lizards bask together:
At 10:30 Iwent for a little walk on the hills around my house
I could see thousands of podarcis and lacerta escaping very fast and I was not faster with my camera.
Only this two ones I could capture on my digital camera:
And finally I did find one pair of the very rare Testudo hermanni hermanni
Then I glimpsed another male: and the carrion of a young female killed by a wild boar: .
It was very hot last week and the night around the lights of the door entrance I spotted a young Tarentola mauritanica (usual friends of my family):
I've finished my small tour (only 3 hours) around my house and I hope you enjoy as me the nice herps live close to me.
