Differentiating Spanish viper species

Postby Avery Leatherwood » Thu Oct 22, 2020 3:00 pm

Hey all!
I have a question, that I figured i would ask people with a bit more experience than myself. So I am in the north of Spain, and have been trying to find many different species of snakes. The question i have, is how to differentiate the three species of small vipers; Vipera latastei, Vipera aspis, and Vipera seoanei.
Due to the similar size, and pattern of the three, I have a very hard time with identification. Any thoughts?
Are there any key differences that I am not aware of?
Thanks so much in advance!
