The Raddei male is awesome!!!

Oh my. What a great report and fantastic findings! That dark raddei male is a stunner and I love the in-situ Macrovipera, usually you only see pictures likes this from Milos Also the Natrix with the Orange blotches, the yellowish Eryx and the fairytale like scenery.... Great! But also you guys didn't see any adult Pelodytes, I wonder if this species really exists

Wow, impressive report, great finds and some amazing photographs! Of course I was reminded a lot of our trip to Northern Turkey - similar species, similar landscapes - just less police action . And seemingly also less exploitation / littering of the landscapes. Although that might be just an impression because you chose your photography frames well...
I am looking forward to going to Armenia and Georgia some day!

thanks for your postings. Well, these countries are really worth visiting. They seem to be very safe, no problem at all with police or military. The food is excellent, beer is available(!), and accommodation is no problem - and everything is really reasonable.
The landscape is really diverse and the number of species is very high. I have to admit that the number of lizards might be too high for some...
And for Europe limited searchers: I know that for most of you Europe ends somewhere behind Romania but if you want to broaden your mind you should take these countries into your considerations.

Lets visit Iran...

Nice report! I'm still working through it. The landscapes are truly phenomenal and you saw really great species. I'm guessing May was an amazing month to herp there.

I'll be visiting the Caucasus this summer in July or August for some alpine trekking. Hopefully I'll be able to see some nice herps then, although the season is probably horrible down at lower elevations.
