coluber viridiflavus?

Postby Marcel Haak » Wed Jun 26, 2013 9:52 pm

I was fotographing the, difficult to shoot, algyroides fitzingeri. when this snake stalked the lizzard.
At first i was hoping for natrix natrix cetti, but after closer examination, i am thinking of coluber viridiflavus.

Can anyone confirm this?

foto was taken on the island of Sardinia June this year .

bytheway......the snake missed and the lizzard escaped.

would have been a great picture! ;-)

greetings Marcel

Yes, viridiflavus for sure, although since the break-up of the worldwide genus Coluber it is classified as Hierophis viridiflavus. You're right though, would have been a great moment to witness!
