Unknown lizard

Postby Petreanu Catalin » Wed Sep 06, 2017 8:22 pm

Hi guys, I took a photo of this lizard. I'm pretty sure I saw it in some lumber too. I have no ideea what could it be. I asume it might be a juvenile due to its big eyes. It wasn't very big, about 15 cm tail included. I also observed its white underjaw. I hope this photo is good enough, though is not best-quality. I forgat to mention, it was observed in Romania on the walls of a forest next to a forest on the hills.

Yes, it is a juvenile and it is most likely Lacerta viridis, unless the photo was taken somewhere between the Danube and the Black Sea where it could also be Lacerta trilineata.

Yes, they are very good climbers and at least in Bulgaria I've seen them on multiple occasions very close to human habitation, e.g. gardens, house walls, etc.
