You have a picture of an amphibian or reptile and do not know, what it is! Ask here

Alagna Valsesia: male, female, subadult

Here is what I consider "usual" muralis for me, even if this family was photographed with my smartphone in Piemonte and not near Pavia: as you see, there are no white stripes, or, if you want, in the female, only very faint, scarcely discernible and interrupted ones...

Similar as here, a better female picture (and a female with better stripes) found with google: https://goo.gl/images/6Zt3cK
Better stripes, but not as sharp and well defined as in your liolepis. I hope there is no doubt about this...

And please, take a look at this liolepis:

Are you able to show me a female muralis with so well depicted white and brown stripes? I've never seen one...

Well ,that's the tricky thing about those two species - they are very variable, so that's why you can't rely completely on any pattern. As for muralis and white stripes, see these that I found in Cantabria:

Seen, but they are something else than the striped liolepis I've linked.
If you see the original picture, you will notice that the two inner white lines are delimitated inside two brown lines, which is not the case of either of your muralis.

Yes, and that's why I said that I'm 99% sure that "my" individual is liolepis but I had some doubts, and it never hurts to ask, right? ;) Anyway, it is sorted and it is a liolepis and no muralis.
