Ronald de Vries from The Netherlands

Postby Ronald de Vries » Fri Aug 22, 2014 10:29 am

Hello,

My name is Ronald de Vries. I life in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Apeldoorn is located next to the Veluwe, a nation park that has a rich variety of wildlife, beautiful forest and moorland.
After I saw my first lizard herping became a big hobby of mine. The next year I made a trip to Lesbos and the next spring again and after that I made a trip to Peloponessos with Bobby, Gerrit Jan Kenny, Jürgen and Peter and Birgit in 2012.

Fieldwork I do:
- I volunteer for RAVON. RAVON is a volunteer organisation with almost a thousand contributors, who support researching and protecting reptiles, amphibians and fish.
As part of a workgroup (WAN) I help study the population of Vipera berus in the Netherlands.
- And I volunteer for Staatsbosbeheer by registering herpetofauna and other special observations. Staatsbosbeheer is commissioned by the Dutch government and manages a sizeable amount of the nature reserves in the Netherlands.

Greetings,
Ronald de Vries
