Hello together,
I am a researcher (mainly history of the environment) from Germany, born in 1981. Like with most of us, my interest in reptiles and amphibians arose in childhood days at the garden pond, in the adjacent forest (fire salamander, common frogs) and the nearby military training area, where we caught newts and yellow bellied toads (one of the best amphibian spots in Rhineland-Palatinate). Nowadays, I am mainly interested in snakes (besides dragonflies), in particular European vipers. Since, I have no populations near my hometown (Göttingen), I study and photograph the adder on the island of Usedom (my second home) where there still exist strong populations (and most probably record breaking females - in length).
I am very happy that I found this great forum, and hope to meet some like minded people!
Best wishes,
Patrick
p.s. Sorry for the delayed introduction.
