I change my mind, I´m out now of these fieldherping things.
Maybe not the best moment, a few Days before, how some fieldherper call it, the season highlight trip comes. (Sorry Paul)
But it is, like it is.

I`m now into these birding things.
I made a few pics the last Days and I enjoyed it very much! Much easier as looking for Herps. It´s much better for your posture to walk with your head up as with head down.

Somehow I agree with Jürgen....maybe its more orthopedic to change the head position from looking down to look up...
...and see the light...the infinity of the universe...and maybe sometimes spot a snake having a snack in a bird nest

I did exactly the opposite since the beginning of the year and now I have no more pain in the neck

Jurgen, your woodpecker is Dendrocopos major, Great-spotted woodpecker, a female.

Now I know I'm on a Herping forum, but I am a birder of 33 years and have started looking down....so am pleased that open-minded herpers can also look up.

But too many times I've looked up to find birds with Amphibians, Lizards and snakes in the claws, but unlike the herpers I don't gain satisfaction from the competition, just awe at Nature's balance that allows us all to enjoy our own thing.
