Second walk of the afternoon. This time I found a juvenile H.viridiflavus under a rock, as it was raining a little bit.

Today's observation: A mid-grown N.natrix found under a rock after 15 minutes of rain. To be mentioned that we currently have very high temperatures (>35°C in the afternoon). It's the first time I can observe a natrix close to my place (usually, I only spot H.viridiflavus in this area).

While I was trying to place the snake where I found it, it started to play death...Quite convincing!

26.08.12 Update: New herping session from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. After 5 days of very hot weather, the temperatures have plummeted. This morning, the weather was not particularly favorable (windy and very cloudy but T around 22°C), and I couldn't find any viper. However, I was lucky enough to spot one H.viridiflavus, many L.bilineata and a very nice P.muralis, as you can see below:
