Marsh Frogs, Smooth Newt and Dragonfly Larva.

Postby Jay Steel » Sat Apr 07, 2012 6:51 pm

Hi Everyone,
I visited a pond in Kent yesterday that Paul Lambourne kindly introduced me to to try and photograph some Marsh Frogs. I also caught a Smooth Newt and a scary looking dragonfly larva. It was pretty big but I have no idea what species it might be.
I thought I'd share my photos with you.

Regards,

Jason

Does anyone else think this dragonfly larva's head looks a little snakey?

Very nice pictures!

If the dragonflys don't differ much from the species in Holland it's probably Anax imperator.

Thanks very much Sjuul. I was thinking of the Emperor Dragonfly myself but I wasn't at all sure.
