Hello everyone,

Here's a selection of pictures from my two herping trips in France this year so far:

Normally, when you release a Hierophis, it escapes very very quickly but here's the show we've seen with this specimen:

Instead of escaping, it went straight to the top of a small tree.

And let us take as many pictures as we wanted...

Still in-situ! This viper really bluffed me, she hasn't escaped at all!

And for sure, she had seen me...

And again, this is still in-situ! At the same spot, another viper hardly curious about me...

The in situ shots of the berus and asp in the thick high grass are great!

Very impressive that you found all those snakes between the high vegetation!

I'll be in France (region Centre) during the first half of July. Would you perhaps care to share some tips and tricks with me on how to find these species of snake? :)
A private message would be greatly appreciated! :)

I posted some in situ pictures of Common vipers (Vipera berus) from the Netherlands in my introduction topic. Come have a look! ;)

Thanks,

Bert
