Yeah... season is going to be completely conclude for me !
But there are still some days to enjoy !!! Some Asp vipers from here...
I've spend my weekend in Provence with a good friend and we didn't found a lot of things, but it was really incredible ! Some bats in sand caves, reptiles from the South of France with the unlikely find of a concolor form of Psammodromus edwarsianus !!!!

I'm sorry I can't connect to the forum at Home and I don't really know why... So I come here from another place !
I think the season is going to be completly ended for reptiles so I'll show you the last pictures I took in the last month (last one is dated from november, 3rd).

The asp on the first picture is really nice! Do you make your observation near Miribel-J. ?

Yes it's very close to Miribel-Jonage ! About 3km !

Ok this morning I've post these pictures saying "now reptile season is OFF"... I've lied !
I've been looking for Bubo bubo and then, the wind was very strong so the air was cold to me but not too much when there were no wind (9,3°c).
The ground was hot (19°c) and I said "OK that's not because you're very congelated that Asp vipers will be !
And it was the real truth !
I found 7 Asp vipers in a place were the wind can't come (that's the good thing with this place). The truth is that 99% of my Asp vipers pictures come from this place.
If the pictures are not excellent I'll share you two of them because I love these snakes !

Did you already find other asp population in the direct surroundings? Apart from this place, I had a lot of difficulties to find V.aspis in the Beaujolais for instance, unlike viridiflavus which are basically everywhere! Anyway, those specimens are really nice and finding asp vipers in mid-November is really cool. 2 years ago in Mid-December there were still many lizards out at your place :!:

Lizards were out in the end of 2012 (I've found 5 on december, 26 !).
I've found Asp vipers populations in some places around Miribel-J. There is a population inside the park and some located populations all around.
Asp vipers are very common in Beaujolais (especially in the higher parts) and you can also fid C.austriaca but it's a very uncommon snake out there. But everywhere you go in Beaujolais, snakes are not so easy to find (except for H.viridiflavus).
