Awesome ! Does Natrix tessellata occur at the pyrenees ? Thought the distribution begins at italy/swiss to the east..

Wow, wonderful snakes and great pictures as usual :o Since 2 years I am thinking of herping in this region and your gallery just confirms that I should do it very soon! BTW, did you already herp a bit more in the north, e.g in the Vendée region?

I spent two years in vendee in the distant past ;-)... It is possible to find V. aspis, but V. aspis aspis, with less phenotipic variability...
