Hi everybody,

Someone from my office sent me this picture of a double-tailed female Palmate newt found in France near Lyon.
Have you ever seen that? What do you think about the cause?

amphibians can replace lost part of their bodies quite easy.

it looks like this is much less common than in Lacertidae, because of no tail autotomy in most salamanders and newts, only some exceptions, like Batrachoseps altasierrae in the first example
