Lacerta vivipara sachaliensis Pereljesin & Terentjew, 1963 (pages 3 - 29), on page 8 had doubts on their own description of the ssp. (sorry, dont have this one).
Dely (1981) showed, in larger series, the morphological differences are not significant, like given by Lac & Kluch in their description of the ssp.
Modern methods: The "pannonica" for example from the eastern banks of Lake Neusiedl (Burgenland/Austria) are the same haplotypes like on "Schneeberg", the Terra typica of the species (distance between these 2 localities beeline approx. 80 km)

Dely, O. (1981): Über die morphologische Variation der Zentral-Osteuropäischen Bergeidechse (Lacerta vivipara Jacquin).- Act. Vertebr. Hung. XX: 5 - 54. = PDF-0109
Lac, J. & E. Kluch (1968): Die Bergeidechse der Ostslowakischen Tiefebene als selbstständige Unterart Lacerta vivipara pannonica n. subsp.- Zool. Listy 17(2): 157 - 173. = PDF-0337

That is so cool. It looks just like an Alligator lizard my friend found a little over 20 years ago in California. I haven't seen anything like it until I just seen these pictures now. Thanks for sharing your find.
