When does everyone else normally see their last reptiles?

Hi Mark, nice one finding an Adder at such a late stage. I'm quite ashamed to say my last Adder of the year was on the 15th of April!

cool!
very nice to see that I´m not the only november-herper :D
too bad that the weather here is finally suboptimal (it was -8 at night and 4 during the day with strong winds) for november observations and most probably it stays bad...

Well, I would say that the absolute record is held by Thomas Ott from Switzerland,
who sent me a photo of Vipera aspis taken in the wild on the 31st of December 2006.
Later than that in the year is clearly impossible, by definition.

For me its not a date that makes a record, its the location.
I think something like the angle of the sun rays seems to be more important.
For exampel 31.12 somewhere in Swiss: ~19,0° compared to 21.12 at "Neustadt an der Orla": 15.8°

That´s why for me this paper holds the Record:
DITTMANN, G. (1978): Jahreszeitlich außergewöhnliche Trächtigkeit von Kreuzotterweibchen im ostthüringischen Hügelland. – Veröff. Mus. Stadt Gera, Naturwiss. R., 6: 91-92
