Vipera Berus extinction in UK counties

Postby David Ellis » Sun Nov 27, 2011 9:30 pm

Hello.Although I haven't done any posts I've enjoyed reading field trips and I've had a few successful trips on a few Berus sites but not as close to home as I would like. Which is why I have this question...It's sad news that the Berus species has vanished from Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire. NBN gateway seems a little out of date for many more counties and im sure Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire are also included. I have read about a mitigation process on the Norfolk Broads that has been successful. The non agricultural parts of the Fens is similar landscape. Would be nice for more mitigations in counties i have mentioned. Are there any plans?
